"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions."
Alfred Lord Tennyson
Remember when you were young and fantasized about who you wanted to be and everything you wanted to achieve? Let’s fast-forward 20, 30 or 40 years- are you where you hoped you’d be? What happened to those dreams and goals? If your answer is that you no longer have the time to dream and you are too busy with life, we need to realign your priorities.
A few years ago, I came across an article that discussed the law of attraction- the name given to the maxim “like attracts like”. It sums up the idea that by focusing on positive or negative
thoughts, a person brings positive or negative experiences into their life. A powerful tool I use to stay positive and focused is a vision board- a space (virtual or paper) I display anything that inspires and drives me (quotes, photos, articles etc.).
I challenge you to create one for yourself. Include the dreams you used to have, the ones you still have, the things you’re grateful for and the reasons for your happiness each morning. By allowing yourself to think about what you want, it opens you up to the possibility that those dreams are still very much within reach.
